Future PLC virtual reality
Future PLC is a global publisher who’s brands include TechRadar, T3, PC Gamer, GamesRadar+ and Creative Bloq. To help them showcase their diverse portfolio to media buying clients around the world we’ve created ‘Step in to the Future’, a 3D virtual reality (VR) experience.
Using Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phones and Gear VR headsets we lead users on an immersive journey into the world of Future. The experience places the user in a lift in a fictional and futuristic Future PLC headquarters. Each floor provides a window to one of their brands. As the user progresses through the experience, from being on stage at a rock concert to a strange encounter with a video game monster, they are transported into the Future worlds of technology, gaming, film, music photography and design. Finally the user accesses the roof for a very special and exciting finale!
Use of mobile VR was crucial to our solution as it enables the sales team to take the project to their clients. The biggest challenge was creating a solution that was rich in content, visual and audio effects whilst still being performant on a mobile device.
We think this project breaks new ground by providing an immersive experience with which to tell an engaging brand story, deepen audience engagement and deliver measurable results. As VR technology matures we expect to see more and more brands exploring this medium.
'Step into the Future' will be showcased through popup booths at media industry events, and presented to clients through a series of roadshows.
